back in the day
things were so easy
or so they seemed
back when songs danced
for the first time to video
nothing mattered
we didn’t care
we were invincible but now
the songs slow down
on slow motion video
so young, so free
far away was the understanding
of a word defined as worry
the world spun like records
on 78 speed.
back in the day
things were just a delusion
we didn’t see the reality
as the songs sang on
we still hum them sometimes
